Default Quick question about PS2 disc tray

On the original PS2s with the sliding disc trays, it's always been my understanding that if you turn the power off when the disc tray is open, it will automatically retract. I know it does this when you hit the standby button on the front, but doesn't it also automatically retract when you hit the actual power button in the back?

I never use the power button in the back, so I don't have any personal experience with this specific issue; any help would be appreciated.

Just tested it now; the disc tray does not close when you press the switch off at the back. When you flick the switch back on again it stays open till you press the standby button.
Hope that helps you

My second PS2 does the same thing (not the PStwo, I mean PS2). I had to get another PS2, as my old one died, and even later models have that.

It closes when you press the Stand-by button, but if it's open and you flick the power switch in the back, it does nothin'. It just sits there, collecting dust. When you turn it back on, it still sits there until you press the Stand-by button or the Open/Close button. Hurry and do so...dust is bad.
