Regarding the NBA and MLB:

'On a scarier note for these same publishers, rumors are already circulating that EA is attempting to negotiate similar deals with the NBA and Major League Baseball. When IGN contacted Trudy Muller, spokesperson for Electronic Arts about these rumors, she told us: "We cannot speculate at this time about any further plans these other leagues may have."'

I was going to post the same quote Lucas...

Farf, I'd sure say that sports games have changed drastically in the last 5 years. Heck, that's the difference between first gen and 2nd gen consoles.

I've never played ESPN Football, but have usually enjoyed the Madden games (although I will admit that I haven't liked any football game in the last few years - maybe picked it up to play a few games now and then, if that.). I have played ESPN Basketball, but still prefer the newest NBA iteration by EA. Call me a fanboy, or call me what you will, I don't care. I like EA, and in the last two years especially, they've tried extra hard to innovate some of their games (especially Live). I think it's a wise move by EA, but I share many of the same concerns you guys do regarding game quality, etc.

Dam these guys for being good business men. I could frankly care less, I only play Madden anyways Good move EA. Oh and yea, Madden's contract is up soon, and 'madden' (i believe) doesn't want to renew it. I think its just going to be NFL Football...

I am boycotting all EA Sports titles from now on because of this move. I will not purchase any EA Sports title.

This is a clearly a business move for the money. There is no other reason bigger then money in this move. Clearly this contract will boost there sales twice as much.

It's a cheap way to play the game in the industry and i really don't like it. They have basically monopolized the NFL Gaming, and i ain't going to stand for that.

From my point of view, of the hobby only, i'm upset. But I can play madden as well as the 2k games. As a matter of fact, I just picked up madden 2005 for 20 bucks. So far so good. I find madden to be a more fluid game. But I found 2k to be a better simulator. I can enjoy both.

Really, it's all about the money?? I'm shocked, SHOCKED! I'm sure your boycott will teach them a lesson though.

Of course it's about the money, they're a BUSINESS, making money is kinda the idea.

Did i tell you to not buy it?

No, i just stated what i will do. If you believe in a monopolized market, i don't care. I for one do not appreciate monopolized markets. I like to have my choices.

What's next in EA's step, take an NBA license?

Wtf? He didn't say you did. He was just saying how you pointed out the most painfully obvious thing about all of this. No shit it's about money.
