Ever since I heard that from Joey, I always thought I had it wrong by saying it "moot-point."

I guess the difference between guys my age and older and younger guys is that to me, and people like me, it's not about winning. Don't get me wrong, winning beats the hell out of losing, but I'd take an honorable and fun loss over a cheap and boring win any day of the week.

It's not warfare tactics, it's ****ing Halo 2. It's a game, and games are supposed to be fun.
Well maybe to some people camping is fun.

I can't imagine how anyone would find pleasure in the actual physical act of camping. They may take pleasure in winning and will therefore do anything to win, but I don't think sitting in one place for most or all of a match can be viewed as fun.

I remember in Socom, on Gamebattles.com, I was 9-0 on singles until I started to get challenges from the top 50, top 75, the people with good records. As soon as I start playing them, I find people camping prone in places I would never bother checking, and we would have draw, then camper wins, draw, then camper wins. It would literally take two hours for the game to be over, if we had to do three maps. I just stopped playing if it's going to be like that.

In wars, though, I decided to camp when it was 8 vs 8, because if we were losing, they were camping, and we were tied, I figure why not?

the fun bit of camping in a game like Delta force is that you lie in the long grass for ages.. just watching.. just watching....

then you see movement...

what was it?

zoom in....

zoom in....

ahh, what are they doing?

theyre trying to find somewhere to hide and camp...

keep him in my sights...

steady

steady...

he's found somewhere...

steady....

steady....

BANG...

sorry Ryan, but thats why I enjoy camping m8...

i dont know if thats the same for everyone, but its a good feeling.

tho, if I was playing Halo, I doubt I would camp it being a quick game, not a lot of time.

with games like half Life or Soldier of Fortune.. you just arm up and take on everyone

Sniping is extremely fun for me, I get a kick out of getting a bead on someone who has no idea I'm watching them from all the way across the level.

Sometimes I camp out and Snipe, sometimes I jump in with both guns blazing, it depends on my mood that day. It's not about winning, that's not why I snipe, because I don't win all the time, I lose alot more than I win.

I snipe because I enjoy it. It's fun. And as you said Ryan, it's all about fun. If you don't have fun getting sniped by people then make a custom game, form a party, and play Halo 2 your way.

But since Bungie made some AWESOME snipe points, and the aiming is perfect, I'm going to use that to my advantage, because I'm really good at it.

By the way, I never sit in one place, I get 3 or 4 kills in a row, pick up shop, get some more sniper rounds, and move to a new sniper point.

It's not tactical real life warfare, but you can make it that way when working with clans....forming strategy....

It's like having someone watch your back, it's basic strategy, I snipe, they watch my back. Can I do it without the help? of course I can, but I'm more effective when I don't have to constantly listen behind me for footsteps or gunfire.
