Camping with a sniper rifle is okay but camping with a machine gun just to leap out, make a kill and then hide again is just bad sportsmanship.
Maybe young gamers now think it's alright to win at any cost?

Red Faction on the PC was the best for camping.
I would go in to a long tunnel then blast further in to the rock to make a really really deep tunnel, then camp and use the rail gun through the walls.. ![]() I was the best Camper... I was a happy Camper... I was a dirty camper.. but never camp in my camping ![]() lucky for you lot im not online or I would be camping in your games too ...lol

I've never played multi-player games (with one small exception, for about 30 minutes), but I think I can see the "allure" of camping.
It's not too different from the idea of sniping (think World War II; what was that movie about the famous sniper? Enemy at the Gate?) I like Arnold's description of how he camps. I would think I could enjoy that. As for being on the receiving end: hey, "war" is war, right? It's just another obstacle to overcome. I don't see why it's that big of a deal.

2. I can rest easy knowing that Jumbo has proclaimed there are no such things as campers between levels 7-14, because apparently Jumbo knows all gamers between those levels and their gaming habits. 3. I think I've played 3 Big Team Battles. 4. I quit playing Rumble Pit long ago. I'll be sure to rush back and level up though, if for nothing other than your approval of my skills. 5. Do I see you bragging? Um, yeah, genius: "I'm too hardcore for that" 6. The day I resort to wasting time with someone like you in Halo 2 is the day I lose my last friend and get baptized in vinegar. It's basically campers and people like you that make matchmade games less fun and more tedious. |

I don't mind camping so much in CTF or Assault, and it's obviously neccesary in games like Territories or King of the Hill, because the only way you CAN score is to remain in one place, but that's not really camping, anyway. Still, when playing defense in CTF or Assault, I still don't camp, not because it's the 'ethical' way to play, but rather because I don't like passive defense, even if it is effective. |

Ryan have you been playing Halo 2 because if you have, like everyone else i know camping in Halo 2 ain't that easy.
I never camp in Halo 2 unless i'm playing CTF Defense or sometimes in Slayer with a Sniper. Firstly in Halo 2 camping isn't half as bad compared to games like Counter Strike, UT, & Goldeneye. Those games had certain weapons like the 1 shot kill sniper in CS and the Siper Rifle with the headshot in UT, as well as the controlled mines in Goldeneye. These things were a breeze to pull off. Another thing about camping, it really does piss me off Ryan just as much as it does you. But i believe making camping an excuse of your lose is just showing how much of a noob you are. I always thought that if you are truly good in a game Camping won't prevail against you. Stop complaining about camping and deal with it. That's a strategy of a certain person in the game and if he's good at it then he'll get you, if you think you're better then him then i strongly believe you will win. EDIT: The only true way to test your skills are to play 1vs1 in Slayer. As for rankings a lot of it's just bullshit. I have mad friends that are Rank 6, 7, 8, +, whatever just high and while i'm only rank 3 or 4 i woop them in that game or we come out about even. I have 1 friend who's a Rank 6 and when playing against Rank 8's and higher he always wipes them out.
