I played multi player with friends for a few hours. And i'll tell you, a few of the maps are pretty enclosed. But there is a reason. Its for close quarters. You'll see.

Yes

You have a bunch of levels that are wide open. Then you have the close quarters levels. It varies!

You'll love it. Ecspecially the new blood gulch which is now called coagulation.

Yeah. Hell, how many games got 9.4 from GameSpot? They're strict as hell. I think it's a fair score.

After playing the game, I will say the GS review is just another BS review from Kasavin though. The guy is a ****ing moron. He gives Halo 2 a 9.4 because the story is lacking and the single player was short. But the moron gave Riddick a 9.3 and it basically had no story and is shorter than Halo 2. I can see some of there points. GS is the only site that has given Halo 2 a lower score than Halo. I don't give a shit about reviews. But Greg does this for the controversy alone. He is an ass.

One thing to look at:

He gave San Andreas a 10 for Value. Which is gamespots replayability. He gives Halo 2 a 9. Which contains possibly the best multi player experience for consoles ever.

Here's the IGN Review, better than GameSpot

Closing Comments

Genuinely great games don't come around that often, but in 2004 we're seeing a few truly remarkable achievements come to the forefront. Halo 2 is one of them. While you can minimize the game to its basics -- it's a linear first-person shooter, it doesn't have online cooperative play, some of the cutscenes look awkward -- the level of improvement in every aspect to an already near-perfect game is staggering.
Even though Halo didn't revolutionize the first-person shooter genre, its influences have already taken place -- it's two-weapon, one grenade system has had profound effects, just to name one -- and it's earned its place in the annals of gaming. Halo 2 is similar in form. It's not going to revolutionize the world of first-person shooters, but it stands on the shoulders of other really good FPSs, and it improves the game on every level.

The best parts of Halo 2 are subtle. No one thing stands out and smacks you on the face and says, "LOOK AT THIS!" Instead, the whole product, the entire game, from top to bottom, is remarkably well produced, well paced and planned. Very few games come together and look, sound, and play as smoothly, organically, and as well as this. It's got dozens of exciting, intense gameplay segments, excellent graphics and sound, and though it sounds like a cliché, the game is filled with millions of the little things that accumulate in your subconscious. The end-result is that it's not only addicting, it's not only the most fun you'll have in single-player or multiplayer game on Xbox, the story is deep and smart, and it keeps you interested. Perhaps best of all, the online portion will essentially blow everything else on Xbox Live out of the water. In a way, there are dozens of surprises about Halo 2, and yet there none. It is the best Xbox game this year, and it is the best Xbox game on the system, full stop.

9.5 Presentation
While the presentation is, in many ways, superb -- with a great story, pacing, etc., the ending is tricky, and the cutscenes often show pop-in.

9.5 Graphics
Everything is higher res, more polished, and the lighting, special effects, and animation all top-notch. The Normal Mapping is cool, but imperfect and sometimes troublesome.

10 Sound
The superb use of Dolby 5.1 sound colors everything with realism. The music is excellent, while the sound effects, voice-acting, & the well-known musical guests appearances work in surprisingly well.

10 Gameplay
You've got one great storyline, one hell-of-an-improved single-player game with dual-wielding, jacking, and more weapons, and some surprises.

10 Lasting Appeal
The single-player game is about 10-15 hours depending on how good you are. The online portion is unbelievably good. It surpasses everything else on Xbox Live 10-fold.

9.8 OVERALL
GTA:San Andreas got 9.9...
