Default Logitech Driving Force Pro

Im considering purchasing this in anticipation of GT4.

Worth it?
Pros?
Cons?

I know nothing about it. I wouldn't have responded, except the thread obviously isn't too crowded anyhow

My experience with wheels has never been positive, so I personally don't hold much hope of finding a good one anytime soon. I've always read reviews/researched prior to purchases (and try to buy the good ones, of course), but I've never been satisfied.

If I were to ever buy another wheel, I'd have to be able to try it out first (demo or friend).

Just my two cents.

$150...not yet. eBay it, don't retail.
Pros: Realistic steering radius. Full 900-degree turning, just like a real car. Force feedback is awesome and much better than the other one. Shifter knob is nice inclusion.
Cons: Shif knob is generic up and down. No clutch (not that we'll see one in a racing game for a while). Retail price.

Can't think of anything else, really.

I think it could be the best wheel yet....I haven't tried it but the ones I have tried didn't offer anything close to what this one boasts.

I did like the microcon wheel though...I had that for awhile.

Hmm. The 900 degree turning radius certainly seems like a step in the right direction. That was always one of my main frustrations.

The other main frustration: I'm a big guy, and these things are always made to sit on the lap of a 10 year old.

Add to that the fact that they never work in full capacity with more than one game (if that, even), and I just got sick of wheels...

I not saying I wouldn't change my mind in the future, but like I said, I'd have to try it out before buying.

I know I just bumped this wicked old topic, but I felt it was better than starting a new one.
I just got reinterested in GT4 (I really want to setup a multimonitor mode now too, but I lack the other PS2s and copies of the game necessary)
I was wondering if any more people had taken the chance with the Driving Force Pro to say whether it's worth the $130 (or less via eBay) price?
I might consider buying one at retail price if it's worth it.. If not, might slack around for a cheaper used price if I can find one..

It's a great wheel. I've got one that has only been used a few times, and if you're interested I'm willing to sell it for cheap. PM me if you want to make an offer.

It works great, I just didn't have room for it in my recent cross-country move.

I'm not even sure what you'd be willing to sell for. But, I'm interested so I'd rather let you make the first offer.
The ones I was going for on eBay were going around $50 or so, but I really can't say I expect you to sell it for any specific price I name, you might want more or less than that.

Did you get the wheel? Is it awesome? Do the ladies love it?

Haha, sorry, I forgot to send a message to you.
I got the wheel Friday, got the powersupply Monday (probably got here Saturday but my schools mailroom is closed on weekends)
So I got to play with it, all excited, and it's damn nice, but it takes a hell of a lot of getting used to. It's hard to race when the DFP is trying to kick you in the teeth.
Sadly though, the only lady that has seen it in action is my friends girlfriend, who, I have to say, I'm not fond of.
But here's to hoping some random ladies walk buy and smell the intensity of my racing and can't resist, then I'll have you to thank.

Thanks for the sale though, it's definitely a new experience I have to work with.
