I'm not overly impressed by either new handhelds, but if I had to purchase either right now, it would be the DS, no contest. It's much crappier than my favourite home systems, and it has a different user interface (as gimmicky as it is). The games will not be the same as those that I can find on my current home consoles (the most interesting ones, that is) - so it should offer a different experience than my home console, which is practically the only reason why I would bother with another handheld.

The psp on the other hand, seems to want to offer the same experience as found on a home console on a portable. But I personally don't want that, because if I did, I'd just play my home console instead. On another hand, it's dead sexy and its screen seems beautiful to say the least.

I briefly owned a Gameboy Color a few years back. It just never got used.

I don't see things being any different now, so I'll almost certainly skip any portable systems.

The only reason for it would be travel. When I'm traveling, though, I'm either driving myself or in the vehicle with my family (in which case I would rather interact with them than play a video game).
