I bought this recently and have to say I'm well impressed.

I have to admit to expecting your standar 5-10 hour squad based 3rd person shooter but in reality it's quite a detailed RPG(ish) with 17 hours play and counting.

I'm currently sat at about 18 hours and have just found what was tainting the Grove

How far through am I because it seems as though I've barely scratched the surface?

At the moment I'm being quite good but I think I'm going to be really bad the second time round.

This is a great game which reminds me of a cross between Summoner and any of the later FF games.

Well worth picking up if you don't already have it as it's now in the X Box classic collection.

Was it the way the characters fight?

I admit it was a little annoying at first but I think it's kinda good when you get used to it.

lol.... if I had an Xbox, KOTOR is the only game I would buy... im kinda Jealous.. haha.

tho SWBF is the first decent SW game on the PS2, so im thankful for that.


is KOTOR really that good? it does look it.

I know. I still love my PS2 but it was definitely worth it if only for this title.

By the sounds of it I'm not even half way through so you can safely say it's an enjoyable 35 hour plus game. The best SW game I've played to date but that could be beaten by BattleFront.

for me, Battle front beats that RS2 on the GC by three and a half miles imo.

completely amazing.. and the grin that slaps across your face as you climb in to a AT-AT or an X-Wing... just fantastic, and the graphics are superb.

but I don't think you could compare to KOTOR seeing as you cant be a Jedi at all. Jedi's can fight along side you or against you but you cant be them. I wanted to be a Jedi.. but to be honest, Im glad they have made a starwars game where you cant be one, as theres more to Starwars than the jedis.. lol, not much..

I really enjoyed Jedi Outcast on the GC/PC... but I think that's nearer to KOTOR, but I like the idea of the old republic as there's far more history there.

lets face it.. the five films that are out (no.3 coming out next year) all tell the story from the end of the Jedi era. I like to know what happened hundreds of years before..

I still don't know why they don't make KOTOR for the PS2, but I will have to stop whining about it at some point

Youve got a long way to go my friend. I'd say your probably at about 20%.

The game is amazing, I loved everything about it. Plus you will love the great plot twist later on in the game. The story really picks up when you get about 60% through.

Ive beat it 2 times now. And i'm on my third play through.

This is my favourite RPG so far in the generation. I didn't play it in hard mode, and that way it plays like an action RPG (think KH, but with more abilities, and a party you can control!).

But what really did it for me was the quality of the moral issues that you have to choose later on in the game, and the voice acting. It's one of the betterly-voiced game I've heard, although that's common for many LucasArts games (Grim Fandango, and earlier games). Loved every second of it, aside from the two first planets, which were average, IMO.
