this is only an update on how things are going on the Tenchu front, kurenai is ... well, more than just a side story.

first off, its just Ayme and a girl called Rin in this game.. no Riki. he may turn up later, but I haven't seen him yet and people who have completed the game say he isn't anywhere to be seen.

the story seems to involve Lord Ghoda, but I only say that because you hear his name in Japanese being mentioned.

so what's improved... mostly everything! graphics are a lot sharper! movement and camera work is about the same (so either you live with it or you cant).
Ai seems to be better too, not only will they chase you for ages if you try to run for it, but if you miss a crucial attack and end up with your back to a samurai or another Ninja.. they WILL cut you stupid throat from ear to ear... I was very impressed.

you can swim and breathe under water (as in Tenchu2), you can also pick up bodies and hide em, as the AI seems to be a lot better, this is a very handy thing to do, but at the moment it doesn't make a lot of difference as I'm playing on an easy setting (I think) so even wen they do spot a body, it doesn't alarm them, but I know that will change when I play the game more.

you have a training mode where you can try your moves to perfection, try stalking, carrying, killing, jumping etc... there's a free roam arcade mode too, which allows you to play the game however you like once you have completed a stage.

also (phew!) there's a kind of battle mode as well... it looks like a two player beat em up...but its only one player. As you go through the game you unlock characters that you can use in this mode. the way the mode is set up is that you are in a room with one other person and you fight then till they are very dead.. then you win! I know it doesn't sound interesting, but it is lots of fun and when you win a fight here or complete the training the game gives you items to use in the main game.


IF this game ever comes out in the States or the UK, I urge all you Tenchu fans to buy it.... a great stop gap until Tenchu4 comes out next year.



I will do a write up on Mojib Ribbon at some point, but like Tenchu Kurenai the only English in the game are the words "PRESS START"..

though I can work Tenchu out quite well, as I know Tenchu... but Mojib, my god!! but hey, its fkg impressive and fun!
