Default Half-Life 2 Release Date?

Half-Life 2 Nearly Finished?
(Taken from www.csnation.net)
(Complete Interview http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=24085)
Synopsis: HL2 out in August

In a recent HomeLAN Fed interview with Gabe Newell of Valve and Tim Burns of Nuclearvision (creators of Codename: Gordon), Gabe states that Half-Life 2 should be ready to ship to Vivendi in a couple short months.

HomeLAN - Finally, we have to ask; how is Half-Life 2 coming along?
Gabe Newell - Good. It's in great shape. We anticipate delivering it to Vivendi in August.

I hope it isnt delayed again. I have a pass to get it free that I got with my ATI radeon 9600xt.

GREAT!!!! I can't wait. My pc will never touch it, but the sooner the PC version is done. They can start working on the Xbox version.

I don't see why they wouldn't put a good effort into it. They did a great job porting Half-Life to PS2.

But the ps2 has better hardware than the original platform for the first game. The Xbox doesn't have better hardware than the original platform.

I am looking forward to Counter-Strike as its online play. CS with realistic physics and good graphics. Somthing I thought would take hell freezing over :P.

Gameplay can be affected by weaker hardware. Would I play a FPS at 15fps on a console anymore (fps = frames per second => high impact on gameplay)? No. It has less RAM, will they be able to have huge levels without loading every 5 minutes? If not - will they be able to shrink down the levels, but still make a good game out of it? And what about the amount of enemies shown at once without slowdown? What about the AI - the sound?

Limited hardware does not only raise graphical issues.

I doubt that the X-Box is that weak compared to the PC version that issues such as that would pop up..but what do I know?
