Stan, the PS2 won't read your copied DVD because it's not a proper PS2 disc, and you'd need a mod-chip put in before it would work. I wouldn't suggest you have a mod chip fitted into your PS2 though, because these things do make the machine more likely to stop working. So unless you can afford a brand new PS2 when your chipped one goes wrong I wouldn't advise it, and if you could afford a new PS2 then you could afford a few original games anyway.

Pirating software bespeaks a blatant lack of character. It's stealing, and I don't care whether or not it's acceptable in your circle of friends. Ryan's right; you're not fooling anyone by telling them you're only using mod-chips to back up the things you already own. You're stealing. You're coming to possess something that doesn't belong to you. It's inexcusable. This argument isn't a new one at PSXExtreme, but frankly I think it's a good one because it marks so clearly the members who've got the basic integrity not to rob people just because it's easier. It's low, stupid, illegal, immoral, and unacceptable conduct unbecoming of a human being and particularly one who professes to be someone interested in the gaming industry. Prices will rise because you people, like Hartmann said, are crooks, and the business will go to dust. Stop pirating your games.
