DD is short for Destruction Derby, a series which got its start on the PlayStation in 1995. The game was developed by Reflections and published by Psygnosis. A sequel hit the PlayStation a year later, with a greater emphasis on racing, but it didn't sell well.

Reflections than splintered after Destruction Derby 2. Some members went on to form The Pitbull Syndicate (who created Demolition Racer and later versions of the Test Drive series)... others stayed with Reflections and went on to develop Driver, Driver 2, and Stuntman.
