Whos playing Tenchu3?

pretty much finished half of it over the weekend (mission 6 with Riki and Ayume), just couldn't stop. what I found was running while strafing was done by tapping X, you do a kind of Ninja shuffle forward, which works well.
the Camera is amazing compared to Tenchu 1&2, you do need a full set of fingers to play this game though.

fighting face to face is easier with R2 pressed as that its enemy lock on, but the only face to face fights I have these days are opnes that you cant avoid, and no Slow down...so far.

there has only been a handful of games that have made me think that they're the mutts nuts, GT3, Z.O.E and GTA and now Tenchu3.

I have been waiting for Tenchu3 for years and years, this is just back to the original and the best, its just pretty amazing. I thought it was going to be disappointing because you wait for years for a game, and when it comes out.. its only just great. MGS2 was like that, if they had brought out Substance back when it first came out, I would of thought the same about that as I do Tenchu.

from the blossom wafting down from the trees to the fireflies that buzz around lights. from the stealth swipe of the Kantana to the blow pipe aimed at the Hornets nest.. this game is just ...well... its... its just Tenchu, the true sequel.

you may not agree, but if your Tenchu fans, trust me, you will love this game.

i have played tenchu 1 and 2 and they are both well ace i i think that i might buy tenchu 3 because i love all tenchus and it sounds well good.

does anybody know how good the graphics are on that game because i havent actually played it or seen any visuals but i like to find out if they are any good so if anybody can get any visuals then post them here

Im gonna rent it and Clock Tower 3 if i get a rent one get one free offer this month. Then probably just buy it cheap this summer when there isnt anything much out. No reason to pay full price for games, really...

I haven't played it so I can't give an opinion but my neighbour bought it and he says the game itself looks and plays well but the story is VERY weak.

He says none of the characters stories are connected well, and the first mission makes no sense, and it is practically the same as the first mission on Tenchu 1.

Is he right or speaking out of his ass?

lol (either out of his arse or he hates Tenchu), the story line is ok, but it helps if you know what Lord Gohda is about (from Tenchu 1).

the first mission is because you're an assassin.. its your job to assassinate people (ahem.. thats what Ninja's did). Lord Gohda wants you to kill the evil merchant who is selling young girls for money and own sexual pleasures...

I don't understand why there needs to be a story line, its not MGS... you are doing your job. then it opens up about three missions in with a story about 3 stones of power that Lord Gohda did once have but now only owns one of... and thus the game begins.

its a pretty good story line, and what's more is that on Ayame 2nd mission you are in the same village that Rikimaru was in on mission 1... yet when Ayame there things are different. even though you have to kill the same merchant (which is a bit weird), things are not the same, its almost like Rikimaru has been there before you... and he was.
it takes real skill not to be spotted and to stealth kill every one on a particular level.. its just the dogs nads... talking of which, the poor hound just didn't see that sticky bomb I stuck on its arse....Boom!

to say the story is weak could be a factor.. but im on mission 8 with Rikimaru and mission 7 with Ayame.. only two more on her and one with Riki before I open up Tesshu to play, and I haven't got a problem with the characters or the story line.. its Tenchu, its the way its always been.

if you thought Tenchu was ok, and not too bothered about it either way, then you should rent or borrow this game.

if you feel however that Tenchu was the first 'true' stealth game that all other stealth games have followed... then Tenchu3 is the game for you

He loved Tenchu 1 & 2.

I only owned Tenchu 2 (The one in which you could create your own levels?) and enjoyed it though the draw distance was dire.

I think the main part of the story he doesn't like is Riki's first mission.

If T3 directly follows T1 then why do you go and kill whoever it is at the end of the first mission? (I don't know who it is as I haven't seen the game).

How does he know to go and kill this guy before he returns to Lord Gohda.

As I said before, I don't really know much about the 3rd game.

Tenchu 2 was a prequel as Rikimaru dies at the end of Tenchu 1.. or so we thought!

Rikimaru and Ayame are both Azuma ninjas, a clan that Lord Gohda uses to inflict revenge or to seek out foes outside and within his own people. so the fact that lord Gohda has asked you to deal with the merchants is just like the missions in Tenchu 1, where he asks you to do something and you do it.. a lil like 'The Hitman' in that respect.

Lord Gohda isnt happy with reports coming back to him about some merchants who are taking the piss.. so you are sent to sort them out (Ayame).

*spoiler*

to answer your question is to delve in to the Ninja world... when Rikimaru was thought to be dead he was in fact in a long ninja sleep, but was awoken by deep disturbance in the realm. Rikimaru could sense that things were not right and that the evil that he once fought and despatched to the portal was starting to reappear.

I cant spoil it too much but you learn all this in about three or four missions in the game. Ayame is still hired by Lord Gohda which is why she was there after Rikimaru as his sense are far more sensitive than that of Lord Gohda and Ayame. lots of people are surprised to see Rikimaru and a lot do not believe that he is who he say's he is...

it does sound a lil pants, after writing this.. but it does make sense when your playing, and the game is full of wonder with ' is this the real Rikimaru or..... '

its very cool.

oh... and the ninja skill im getting for every 9 stealth kills are really cool, I can now hang on ceilings and have acquired 'ninja sight' which is really helpful.

like I say if you liked tenchu you should adore this game... right down to the blossom off of the trees... nice!
