Personally that cartoon about nintendo could also be said about Microsoft. Neither of those systems can compete with the PS2 in terms of games. So both of them are pretty worthless right now IMO. Now thats my opinion.

If you look at it by the amount of quality titles, GC is waaaay better than N64. The only thing is that 90% of these games are available on other consoles. Some for even cheaper. RE, Skies etc.

The number of good exclusives on GC pales in comparism to that of the N64 and that's why they're struggling. It's really pathetic that the only 2 GC games worth owning IMO are OOT and Sonic Mega Collection. Wait a minute, they're not even original GC offerings! :rollin:

In March, I'll have 3 games (Celda) but I'm the kind of guy who wants to play ALL the good games on ALL consoles. Unfortunately for Nintendo, most folks aren't like this...

I thought Metroid Prime was a great game too. It did a great job of bringing the series into 3D while still keeping the feel of the old games. And while I've always prefered the two Sony consoles over their Nintendo counterparts, I think Nintendo is doing a way better job with the GC than they did with the N64. IMO, the N64 was one of the worst disasters in gaming, while the GC is a fairly decent console.

Nintendo's time as a console maker is done. Sega realized that and did the smart thing. Backed out. Now what do they do? Make great games. Nintendo is stuck in a set way of doing things because it worked so well in the past. They like doing things old school and are reluctant to get with the times. Think about it, they were last to leave the cartridge era, they're the last in the online era, and now they're the last in sales. Nintendo will never do something evolutionary, hardware-wise. Eventually they will dwindle out as will Sony in 10 years or so and Microsoft probably. I could be wrong, but history has proven that every great dynasty eventually falls. Whether it takes a few years, a decade, or centuries.

Ding, Saltine wins bonus points!! I feel the same, N64 was the downfall of Nintendo in some ways, for one being a much older gamer i feel if anything that Nintendo regressed with the 64 and actually became an even younger persons gaming system than the SNES, which due mostly in part to great third party support had some very mature, fun games on it to play, and way more fun games in general...

I'm glad to hear what the truth really is about Nintendo. I'll admit that GC has a few great titles but I never play mine. I have three games for mine and I don't care about buying anymore. I bought my GC because I thought I was going to want Super Mario Sunshine more than anything. That game was a huge disappointment. I liked Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Blinx: The Timesweeper, and even Pac-Man World 2 much better. I may buy Ikaruga(sp) and a few Capcom games but that's it. I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom ported some of their upcoming games to PS2. I may buy Metroid Prime when the price drops.

I don't know what Nintendo is thinking when they say that their making a new console. It will probably do worse than GC unless Nintendo changes their ways.

It will do bad unless they change their ways. Nintendo was great and their business strategies back in the early 90's worked beautifully, but Nintendo has to have noticed that N64 didn't do too hot and GC is headed down the same road. It's almost a decade since their REAL glory days. They have to change their business mentallity a little bit. The market has changed, it's time for Nintendo to too, or they'll inevitably have to exit the gaming market.
