lol... oh yeh, forgot about em as well... true they were cool.. or should I say are cool.

still, nothing to them though was there? ... a very nice bit of hack and slash.

I think the thing with the Hobbit games, is that its a book.. unless you can rewrite the book in the form of the game, you know what will happen.

I think I may of missed the point of this post, but I am in the understanding that games from films mean that you SHOULD be able to stretch the story in to a totally different direction, make what you wanted to happen in to a reality.
And from games to films.. to see what you played and thought about being acted by actors who play the parts perfectly.

So Dillon:

Movies based on games should stick to the original story.

Games based on Movies should follow new storylines.

That's what I was thinking as well.

games based on movies can be good, are we forgetting rocky?? alien vs predator. (technically not a game of a movie, but it is based on two)(and the alien vs pred movie will be out soon anyway) both were excellent.

I think movies of games should revolve closely around the original storyline...but they should be more involved. Definately they should re-enact certain elements of the game....Resident Evil did this with the Laser Hallway...VERY TENSE!

Games from movies, should only include the characters from the movies, and go onto an expansion of the story itself, basically I think both mediums should follow the same path...

I never want to see a movie that is exactly the game or vice versa....although the lord of the rings seems to be an exception...one that I have yet to experience...

I like hack and slash though.

i personally think that if a movie is going to be made from a game, it should follow the game exactly, like the same dialog, etc. however, this will never happen, so i'll just have to resign myself to that fact.

yeah but how would you go about turning 20+ hours of gameplay into a 90 minute film? obviously the have to alter the pace to make the film flow.

and whoever said resi evil was tense is lying.
it's bad.
very bad. but that's just my opinon.
but it's right.

I guess tense was the wrong word...Intense fits better.

That laser hallway was just badass.....when it turned into a grid that covered the whole hall I said the same exact thing the captain said before he said it...."OH SHIT"

I really liked Resident Evil....I thought it was the best movie made from a game.

About the lazer hallway if it was going in to a grid what was the point of the first lazers? It was like the computer was joking with them.

I think the first lasers were the normal trap but as they avoided it the computer thought " try and avoid this you b*****d!" and sent the grid.

I thought the Resi film was okay but I don't think my opinion counts for much as I also liked the Mortal Kombat films

I think my favourite movie based on a game would have to be Street Fighter 2: The animated movie.

Live Action....Anime doesn't count, cause it's usually always good.

The first Mortal Kombat movie was awesome, I liked it alot....the second one sucked, they killed off Johnny Cage....that made me hate it from the very first scene on.

Resident Evil had a gripping storyline, and a they pulled off a very cool way of telling the story....The effects were cool....the only ones that were questionable were of the "licker". It kinda looked rushed, but I'm sure the second one will have alot better special effects, as it's budget is about three times that of the original....
