you must by Soul Edge then... you just have to buy it.
funny, what you were saying... I did Karate for about 9 years, and honestly thought power was the way forward, as is the way of the fist. a mate of mine trained in Ninjitsu for many many years, and it wasn't a crap made up style, they actually had links with Japan, so I know it was authentic, yet saying that the last true ninja died in the 90's so there aren't actually any real Ninjas alive today, even if you train their style, that's all you're doing. I did kung Fu for a while, and the Chinese shaolin boxing northern or southern style is very very close to Ninjitsu. in fact imo Ninjitsu is the Japanese equal to Kung fu, with Ki and Chi being very close and the honour of your opponent. Doing Tai Chi at the moment... only have another 50 years to go before I can call myself worthy, looking forward to old age. Anyway, back on track... you must pick up Soul Edge, you will love it, im sure. and if you get your hands on a 2nd hand PS2.. Kengo1 Kengo2 Way of the Samurai Way of the Samurai 2 Tenchu3 Soul Calibur 2 hell, if yer desperate, you could even get Shinobi or the other three ninja games coming out. in a way its a shame they never did more on the PS1, still it was more than any other console at the time...

I've been doing Tai Chi. and WOW.
I did Tae-Kwon-Do for a year...and then I tried Karate.... But Tai Chi is the best by far. This is definately helping me towards my goal of learning drunken kung fu. I wish there were more sword fighting games based in samurai/ninja/shaolin monk worlds...I would like to see a game with all three interacting.... Like....GTA: Feudal Japan....that would RAWK.

you do Tai Chi too?
cool, what style? Im doing Chen style... based on the fighting Chen style.. very very cool, just getting to grips with the form. ahh... drunken boxing... yeah! me too, many forms in drunken boxing, so cool to do, so graceful, and you can be a lil plastered too.. hehehe that's why I love that Shaolin (lord of the Fist) game, as you go to this village and learn Tai Chi.. master it and beat the trainer, then move on to a different village and style.. no other game does that. in Tekken there are styles, same as in VF4..but even though Nina does Aikido and (I think its..) Goh does judo, they always have punches and licks. I did Aikido for a while, and you can survive some one coming at you with punches and kicks as that what the style teaches you, no game has ever represented it or other styles in their true form. fact is, with 'boring' martial arts like Judo, Aikido.. the true martial art could be done exactly how it is in real life on a game, done well.. and you would probably have the greatest fighting game on earth. where in Aikido or judo not one punch is thrown, but the ability to manipulate your foe.... its just drying out to be a decent game. one day someone some where will do it, but I fear its a long way off. as for Tai Chi, its well documented that after 30-40 years of doing this, you are probably faster, stronger, fitter and more lethal with Tai-Chi than any other martial arts learnt in an 8th of the time. Most arts you can complete in 7 years, it can take you just 2-3 years to become a 2nd Dan grade in Karate... you can open schools and teach people.. imo that's wrong, and I would never be taught by anyone who hadn't been doing it for many many years or who wasn't totally 100% dedicated to their art. as for those who think Tai-chi is for poofs standing in a park waving their hands about.. they should try it, especially the standing form.. eh? bloody hard work. buts saying all this, one wise man said.."there are many paths at the base of the mountain, but once travelled we all see the same moon".. very true. Im sure any martial art practiced for 30-40 years would be just as rewarding in mind spirit and soul.

Right now I am just watching videos for tai chi quan and emulating what I see over and over. Since I was in Tae-Kwon-Do I am good at learning form and remembering it.
I've been doing that for about 2 months now, and my balance has increased tons. I've been messin' around with drunken kung fu for about 2 years. I just like how Tai Chi is about exerting the minimum amount of energy possible....
