Default What consoles are you most proud of owning?

I can say that I've been proud of owning many consoles. I've been very satisfied with my unexpected and unplanned purchase of my Xbox and my Dreamcast - both consoles I was pretty sure I wouldn't get.

That said, I'm very proud of my:

PS2
PSX
GBA
Xbox
Dreamcast
SNES
Sega Genesis

And that's it. I've been MAJORLY disappointed with:

GameCube
GBA Color/Pocket (I only had ONE game, which was Pokemon Blue)
Nintendo 64
Game.Com (what a piece of shit)
Game Gear (Goddamned battery hog!)

That's pretty much it. I can hardly tolerate Nintendo at this moment. The only reason I'm keeping my GC is for the GBA player (lucky for me I have a Jet Black GC), and Zelda: WW + bonus Zelda 64. Aside from that, the GC is the worst console of this generation. It's nice to see Microsoft (a newcomer!) hand Nintendo its ass - marking this Nintendo's SECOND newbie ownage. And to think, I hated the Xbox with a passion when it was announced. Ahh...how times change, as do minds.

I was proud to buy:
1. PSX
2. PS2
3. Sega Genesis
4. Nintendo 64
5. Nintendo Gamecube
6. Gameboy Advance and Pocket
7. Super Nintendo

I didn't like:
1. GameBoy Color - The worst handheld ever released they barely even tried to work on good colored games all they did was remakes of good black and white games.
2. Dreamcast - Well i did like it but for some reason i won't even play it. I'd rather pop out the N64 and play some Zelda.

My biggest dissappointment in games is(does not mean worst game):
Nintendo Gamecube - Super Mario Sunshine, the game was so boring. Mario 64 was soooooo much better and i hope Mario 128 is gonna be good.

GD: How could you even say that? Sure some games were pretty kick ass, but when I'd play Madden NFL 93 on that damned thing, and the battery light turned red I couldn't finish my game! Every 4 hours I had to change SIX AA batteries! Are you ****ing serious? That's like $40 every two weeks. No thanks.

With the GBA I've only changed my batteries three times...in the 2 years I've had it (since US launch).

Though i never had it i would have to say it sucked from playing it at Arnolds house. First off like Arnold said it was a freakin battery eater which needed not 2, or 3, or even 4 AA batteries but 6 of them. Also the special adapter to play it without batteries was almost non-existant. And the Gameboy had many more games compared to the GameGear.

How anybody could be proud of the NGC is beyond me.

Star Fox - Delayed for a year...dissapointment
Super Mario Sunshine - Sooo talked about and hyped...overhyped poo
Eternal Darkness - Play it halfway...never play it again

Not to mention all the constant delays, the SHITTY 3rd party support...it's turning into N64 all over again. If I wasn't such a psychotic Zelda fan, I'd get rid of my NGC in a second. And with Rare on board with Xbox, there's even less to like about the system -- even though much of TODAY'S Rare stuff is different than yesteryear's.

Proud of my/our (my brothers included):

PS2
PSX (which is now sold)
SNES
NES (which is now sold)
GBA
Game Gear (I NEVER used batteries with it, always had it plugged into the wall or into the cigarette adaptor while driving, that thing passed MANY hours as a kid sittin in the back of the car on road trips.)

Dissapointed in:
GameBoy Color - it just sucked, i hated the dull colors on the screen, and i didn't really like any of the games.....

Using something for profit is an odd way to express pride...

As for the prompt, SNES, without question. Many of the greatest RPGs ever made were released exclusively for that console. I might be especially interested in that genre, but even beyond Square's contributions there are scores of worthy titles--check it out if you don't have one.

there are others, but they're a bit shite. I gotta to say a special shout out to my Spectrum +2, even though its not a console, it gave me many very happy gaming years. And of course the old Speccy is better than C64 conversations, a bit like PS2 and Xbox..lol
