Default Grand Theft Auto: Online?

Yeah, I wish -- and so do these guys.

I threw this same exact concept at the Gaming Advisory panel. Hopefully the higher-ups at Sony and Rockstar will take notice.

You can play GTA online with the PC versions. Me and my friend play GT2 online against each other. And he is DLing the online mod for GTA3... If it works I'll let you guys know. It's supposed to.

No GD, you didn't read the article. They're talking about a fundamentally different gameplay experience altogether.

Sounds interesting on the surface, but...

I don't really get into The Sims, either, because of how much time it takes. They're sort of fun, but after awhile you realize that you're no longer living your life, you're fantasizing about a fake life. Seems a little creepy, to me. I need my games to have finite boundaries and timelines.

That's an interesting perspetive, but it isn't like people spend days sitting in front of the computer playing it. I hope. If I go over a friends house, we might create a house and a person just for fun for an hour, then do something else. It shouldn't take over your life, but it sure is fun.

It would be hard to do without making the game very very very shitty. For an MMORPG i dont want any of that lvling up shit in a GTA game. I just wanna run around, beat people, take there cars(that they spent thousands of game dollars on) and crash them into other expencive cars.
Then run away cutting people with my chainsaw =D

Your leveling up would basically be your status as a criminal. Thug, Made-man, Kingpin. You know, stuff like that. I think that's how it SHOULD be anyway.

Ok. Show of hands for the people who "actually" read the article. There is no leveling up. Please read, please. It's fundamental.
