The corporate "bafoons" at Rockstar North aren't of the same mind as the usual suspects (see: GTA 1 to VC).

I can foresee no reason why they couldn't implement exclusive online gameplay without keeping the integrity of the franchise intact.

However, I do see lots of potential for disaster. The game is based on criminal action, so I can just imagine the things people would do to ruin the game for the sake of just doing so. Player killing would abound. It would be no fun if you were constantly worried about every character you see blowing your head off. Snipers, random grenade throwers, auto-cide freaks running down players, and people who want to vicariously carry out a random killing spree as a digital psychopath.

Yo, I had a thread like this awhile ago, but its for www.mtavc.com, a mod of the PC version of Vice City, and som other team is also coming out with an even better looking mod. Who needs to wait for a console version when you can steal some software (or buy the game, I don' care), and then download a mod thats hellafun? Check it out:

And Playstation Fan, this is the best you will ever get with GTA Online. I don't thik anyone wants to work that hard to make something that complicated when you can just have fun doing this.

The way I see it Tone, once you join a gang, no one will mess with you by themselves. Thus eliminating any immediate threats around every corner. Also, if there was some way to show how high you are on the criminal food chain, they just may back off anyway. Killing a made-man could mean serious business for the trigger man and his mob. Gosh this sounds so damn cool just talking about it.

Yes Tosser, but rechargable health and armor combined with the anonymity of the IntarWeb, plus the ability (probably) to just switch accounts once you've been an ******* using another is just too enticing for the would be game ruiners (LOL@ruiners!).

Anyway, I'd like to see a game like this though as it would be so cool as you said, to have gangs under control and clout. Never forget clout, it's great with sandwiches.
