Decent RPG?

Ladies, Gents, Boys and Girls.

As GT4 and FFX-2 will not be hitting British shores before christmas, I will be purchasing a new game and want PS2 RPG.

I have FFX and have had Summoner.

Please could you recommend my next purchase?

Is Warriors of might and magic worth getting?
How about Gauntlet Legends?

Dark Chronicles...

seriously, its fkg amazingly deep and as good as FFX was, its just different.

I owned the first Dark Cloud and thought it was good.

Not sure I'm keen on the graphics on this one but I'll take a look.

Any other suggestions?

really? oh well, it may not be for you then.

I think the graphics are utterly brilliant, best ive seen on the PS2 since Zoe2..

but im a bit of a cell junkie.

anyway, if you can get past that, they reckon the game is over 100 hours long, im at 60 hours and no where near half way through.. too many great things to do.. I could just do the storyline and rush through it, but I find myslef taking pictures, inventing stuff.. talking to people... playing golf (not quite yet) and mainly fishing.

at the moment im breeding fish and making them fight each other.. quite amusing...

well, it amuses me.. lol

I didn't realise there was that much to do.

That's what I like in a game. Being able to leave the story while I go off and complete lots of other games and sidequests.

It's £30 though.

I was hoping I could pick up a decent older RPG adventure cheaper...

Dark Cloud 2 is pretty damn sweet and there is tons of crap to do if you are looking for a deep game.

Also the new (and extremely rare) Disgaea is one the best best "Tactics" style RPGs in a long time. Not as good as FFt but definitely an amazing game.

Gauntlet Legends is the PS1 game isn't it? The PS2 version was Gauntlet: Dark Legacy (I think). Regardless, these games are only really worth playing multiplayer, they aren't actually RPGs (though they do have an experience system) and they are really really repetitive.

Wild Arms 3 is probably quite cheap now. Doesn't compare to FFX and doesn't have the same charm as the original Wild Arms (never played the second) but it seems ok so far. Suikoden III is one I haven't played but which is supposed to be quite good, as is Kingdom Hearts.

Do not look into Eternal Ring or Orphen: Scion of Sorcery. I picked them up when I first got the console and was looking for a good PS2 RPG to play until FFX came out. Trust me when I say I did not find a good PS2 RPG in either of those titles.

Xenosaga isnt out in the UK yet...

im not dissin that Gauntlet game, but I hear B.Gate: Dark allience was better.. I did play that, and CoOp two player rocked.

yeah, Dark Chronicles ...man, you could just play the side quest/ mini games.. and that would be worth your £35.. seriously! let alone that whole saving the planet story mission ...lol, its damn cool.

I did play DC1 and its not really like that, you will recognise certain things, but as a whole, its pretty much a new game.
