But this is the perfect game for EVERYONE. Developers obviously don't make games designed around people ruining the experience for others, because that would only attract the troublemakers and that would make the game pointless. But if you are catering for everyone then that has to include everyone. You can't just give these people their own area because then nobody would go there apart from the troublemakers.

All the teamkillers in CS enjoy doing it because it messes things up for the team they're on and the person they've killed. They do it to annoy people. That's not even an MMORPG, just a single event in a short game. There's just no way to properly police an online title the size of Voice's, there will always be people there causing problems and simply by being there they prevent the game being perfect. In my opinion, of course.

Anyway, I didn't type this post and you obviously didn't read it, because I said I wouldn't

Macho Man.

It is the perfect game for everyone. Even people who don't like the MMORPG's (I've never even played one).

Offline...it would have every aspect of online...it'd be just as big. You could do everything. You could even just play two player....like a normal in home game.

I'm saying this is the game to end all games because it IS ALL GAMES.

as far as the skaters vs. FPS guys goes....the skateboarders would have guns as well if they wanted...they could have lookouts posted...a fortress built with minions guarding the gates....dragons posted on lookout...and then a huge skate park in the middle of their fortress.

they could do skate-by-shootings!

I'd like to see a bunch of wizards going toe to toe with some heavily armed military soldiers....it would be ****ing AWESOME.....

and a few stragglers that wanted to cause problems....would only run into ME eventually. The one character that is nearly invincible...you beat me and you get some bad ass upgrades....but i just come back even stronger.

I would be the ringmaster.

funny how when GTA3 came out.. the initial reaction was that it was the perfect game....

Im so glad we will never see 'the perfect game' in our life time... I bet it will be really dissapointing.. lol

I am not argueing, i am trying to set a point.

And game is a game and life is life, you cannot make a game like life is.

All i'm trying to say like Macho is that you cannot rely on other people, i don't care how good or perfect game it is, you still cannot rely on other people, because many of them can just ruin your game.

Yes but puting all game together might be a good game for you, but i'm trying to talk realisticly here with what Ryan gives, i am trying to talk about a game that can be released and the technology is avalaible for our time now.

Forget about if's or dreams, because a game like that is useless IMO, it's like a GTA game except even more endless possibilites, and when you make a game like that you can not focus on a story too well, and i BELIEVE a game is not perfect without a perfect story, also sequals cannot be made to the game.

That is why sports games cannot be the greatest because sports is based on real life and real life changes, new cars, new sport players, etc...

A perfect game must be some sort of fantasy or RPG gaming.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I assure you that some of the ideas in this thread will be represented in my upcoming editorial on the subject. I'll also be mentioning various forum members by name, for various reasons. Look for it early next week!

You don't need that much money to create a cool game. More like a few hundred dollars for the necessary programs, and a few thousand for promotion. Maybe not even that much. There's a neat looking 2D/3D game making software that uses DarkBasic program language for $50. I'm thinking of buying it and starting a little project for fun. ^___^ I'll do the graphic and character design, but I'm not too good as a writer imo. *hint hint*

I spend most of my free time working on stories, as it happens. You do have a point, it's not necesarily that expensive to make a smaller game, plenty of people do it and then release it on the 'net. You know how to use DarkBasic then? Heh, I remember when most games were so small that you actually could make them at home and get them to the top of the charts. Graphically everything was a handful of coloured squares, the audio was a series of beeps and the story generally didn't exist, or came in the instruction manual...

Voice, I missed this point back when when we were discussing this:

Now THAT has some appeal to me, a Massively Single Player Offline Role Playing Game in the style of an MMORPG. Being the perfect game the AI would of course be top notch, and would have no trouble perfectly emulating the actions of decent gamers who are there for fun, without the possibility of the idiots invading. I'd want somebody like Will Wright on the team for the AI though, he's fascinated by robots and artificial intelligence so this would be right up his street.

With LAN support as well I'd be very impressed, although to properly recreate the experience you'd have to have a PC operating as the dedicated server, so the game is always running and the AI is doing things while you aren't present. As I said earlier, take out the other people and multiplayer gaming starts to appeal to me...

EDIT - (Forgot my original reason for replying to this post, ended up typing quite a bit more than I intended):

Looking forward to the editorial Ryan.
