Damn...I knew you needed something more than some good ideas to make a game!

Genre:
RPG Well i don't believe an MMORPG would be a good idea. I would have to say that it would have to be a Turn-Based RPG, like most Final Fantasy games. MMORPG will not work as the greatest game, well actually no Online game will ever work as the best game ever. Story: Final Fantasy VII + Final Fantasy Tactics = Perfect Story The game must revolve either around 2 or 3 main characters. Basically it would have to be 3. Other characters must exist to add up to the story. But the first main 2 characters must in some way know eachother and have a good past as friends or whatever, and this future of them prevents them from being friends due to something in their past. Though they would still be fighting for the same thing, and the 3rd main character would have to be a woman. This is almost like Final Fantasy Tactics - Ramza & Delita being best friends and the enemies fighting for the same cause. A sacrifice of one of the main characters must be made(But not our Protagonist), this will make the story much more deeply revolve around the 2 main characters over this death. This is almost like Final Fantasy VII - Aeris' Death. The Ending is one of the most important parts of any game, to make a game you must make an ending, this ending must be something special, something no one wanted to happen, mostly maybe even an incomplete or a mysterious ending. The ending is what makes some people think so much about a certain game. Mostly and un-answered or a sort of ending on what happens next should happen. This is either Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy Tactics. Sound/Music: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Metal Gear Solid The music must be extremely dramatic, touching, and very sad. Symphonies mostly must be used. The music is needed to set the mood of the story, without the music the story is incomplete. There also must be some happy and loving moments, but the music in some sort of way though loving and happy still has this dramatic sound to it, like in Final Fantasy VIII. Mostly the music from Final Fantasy VIII, FF VII, & Metal Gear Solid. As for the sound effects, there must be no talking characters, i don't care if you can turn it off or on. EVERYTHING must be read by the person who's playing the game. This allows all of our unique minds develop on how the character would sound in our mind creating the most perfect sound effect for the character that we wish. This is an extremely important part that made Final Fantasy VII so good. Length: Final Fantasy Tactics The length of a game must be reasonable, well basically pretty long. Metal Gear Solid type of lengths of game will not do. The length must go into the story, right when you think you've won the game, amaze the person by extending the story in some way without killing the ending. Gameplay: Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy III Need i say more! :P --------------------------------------------- Well basically that would be the best game ever imo.

so far, so good. the only thing i could think to add which i dont think has been said already is use of different controllers. (obviously, this would need to be optional as your average gamer prolly doesnt have all of these, but oh well.)
it would rock if, while driving a car you could plug in your racing wheel and use that, or go hunting/just have fun with fire arms using your light gun, or go to the club and makes some moves on your DDR pad. it would make the game tons more realistic and it would switch up the game play some making it more fun. i also think it would be kewl if instead of pasting your face onto a set character body you could draw/ photograph something and make it part of game and fully 3D. one more thing, i'd like to see you be able to add things other then the main character. make your apartment look just like your room. go see your favorite band play. have a teacher you HATE? make em a boss and take out some frustration!

hey Voice I like your idea of the big MMORPG. You would be able to do anything. It would be a pretty big game though. Might take a least a few disks to put it on.

The thing that would stop me from ever considering an MMORPG anywhere near a perfect game (ignoring the lack of story) would be the fact that other people would have to be involved. There are some people who play these games solely to annoy and disrupt the experiences of others. Without turning off PvP people will go round killing everybody they can, or stealing items dropped by enemies killed by other people, and just generally ruining things for everyone.
That extends to other online games, Counterstrike's filled with team killers, SOCOM is apparently plagued by glitchers and cheaters and in Diablo people use hacked items/characters and go around just killing other characters. If it wasn't for other people I might be able to enjoy online gaming... |

No....it would just take the creation of a bigger HDD.
And my game would be a MMORPG/RPG it would be two different stories, the MMORPG would be a never ending story in the long run, with several sub-endings such as after defeating a really powerful overlord...things like that. and the Single Player part of it would play out like the best RPG Ever....yet it would still include all of the aspects of the MMORPG..they would just be side-quests that could earn you special items and such.

For the record: Miyamoto is ONE guy who I would not want anywhere near my game. He seems to be, clearly, stuck in the past. Bring on the guys from Factor 5.
Hrmm, if Factor 5, Polyphony, Naughty Dog, and KCEJ developed a game, that would rock. Factor 5 for their brilliant thinkers, artists and producers. Polyphony for their abilities to push the PS2's limits and create absolutely flawless frame rates. Naughty Dog for their engines and world's best programmers. And KCEJ for their ability to tell a story, attention to detail, graphical detail, and visual polish. Yeah. |

I would want to bring in some guys from Incog studios as well.
![]() edit: And Sega AM2, and whoever else was responsible for the 3-d character design in Virtua Fighter 4 would be brought in as well.

Quote:
The greatest game ever must have 1 story which makes the game all out great, and that everyone can play it. It's like that stupid Zelda Four Swords game, it can never be considered a great Zelda game because i can bet you everyone that wanted to play it, can't because you need 4 people to play it. And like Macho said with an MMORPG you rely on people. Complexety of a game sometimes makes it worse, simplicity is the way to go. If 1 ultimate story is developed there is no use to make another story.
