Aye, so much good could come out of a remake for the game. FFVII with FFX quailty graphics, higher quality audio, cleaner translation, voice acting...

Sony UK have actually put up news of the DVD on their site now, announcing the return of those three popular characters 'Cloud, Strife and Sephiroth'. Oh well, at least they tried

I'm assuming it won't look so bad in video form, once it flows. He did sport a demented smile during that fire sequence, however, it wasn't very detailed, as it was simply a line on his face.

Replaying the game and looking at those screens make me want a remake even more. The game needs it, badly.

I know, I'm working through FFVII again whenever I can fit it in and you can't help thinking how they could redo certain sections or tidy them up a bit. It's not just a case of jazzing up the game with better quality visuals and audio (though that would be very welcome), it's a case of actually being able to play the game as it was meant to be played. Thanks to the super-cheap translation some of the dialogue is just plain bad.

Some scenes really lose their sense of drama due to the translation... Sometimes I wonder how I ever thought them to be good at all.
