now that i think about it i do remember the sparks coming out of the foot clan ninjas.

Although Sai can be used to stab someone....they are generally just used as a blocking weapon, and a bludgeoning weapon.

Swords however...should ALWAYS be used to sever SOMETHING.

Did you Americans have all the problems with Michaelangelo's nunchukas (spelling?)? Over here he rarely used them because too many kids were attatching heavy blunt objects to string and swinging them round their heads or at their siblings. Spent most of his time attacking with his fists or short one-handed staff things (sticks? ).

How do you use Sai daggers as bludgeoning weapons, hit them with the handle?

Not meaning to keep going on about the original comics, I just thought it interesting that in the cartoon Krang was completely evil, but in the comics the brain thingies were all good guys. They save Splinter's life and turn out to be the 'people' behind the TGRI company (who made the ooze that accidentally created the turtles). The cartoon took a lot of liberties with the original ideas...

if you look at real Sai...they don't have needle like points...they have blunt tips...

you use it like a stick...swing it at their head and knock them out.

I remember when I was a kid, every time we ordered pizza, I would put in one of my many video tapes of the turtle cartoons...each one had two episodes.

I'd eat pizza and watch the turtles.

man, those were the days!

My son watches the new show. He loves it. I was a little old for the turtles, but my little brother was WAY into them. He had the damn 2 foot tall Krang robot and everything.

Haha, that's crazy, I used to do the exact same thing. It was practically impossible for me to eat pizza and NOT watch the turtles.
