a 40 gig HD....should be sufficient for one game at a time, correct?

For info- right now on my HDD I have:

1) FFXI + Jiraat no genei
2) Winning Eleven 7
3) Winning Eleven 6
4) King of Colosseum Red
5) Pop'n' Puzzle Taisen Online beta
6) Playonline Client

and some other junk installed, and have something like 20GB free. FFXI/Playonline takes up a good majority of that IIRC.

You'll also only need one memory card forever, as you can copy save files to the drive. None of these games support save/load to the HDD though so far. Of course, FFXI saves to the central server rather than locally.

For $99 a Sony HDD Specially Designed for PS2 and you expect it to be a 120gb, you're out of your mind.

Though I think $99 for a 40gb even if it is custom made is a little to expensive and i wonder what the RPM Spped and The Buffer Size on it is. If Buffer 2mb which it will most likely be and the RPM is at 5400 then it is without a doubt overpriced.

IF it's a 7200RPM with a 2mb Buffer well then it's still slightly overpriced.

I think for $99 they should've gave 60gb, i mean today you can get a PC harddrive for about a dollar a gb, hell even less.

A Maxtor 160gb HD with a wopping 8mb Buffer and a 7200rpm sells at about $160-$170 Retail and it comes with a special $50 card free and if you used some rebates like i did you get it for under $100, about $80 i believe.

So a $99 value for a 40gb is kind of expensive.

I mean i'll still buy it and all but i would expect more for $99 though.

Sure do. No idea why I ponied up the cash. I think I just didn't have anything better to do at the time, and had just gotten a new job so I had lots of extra money.

I had all of the PnP RPG books I wanted so that was the only thing left to buy. It's kickin rad though, that you can play Star Soldier and Nuts and Milk on the Hudson Channel.
