Well for starters, I'd like to see NEW characters. Sure, we can keep the old cast but add some NEW ones. And no, I don't mean Giving us a new character model, but basically giving them an older character's moves (Ahem: Cassandra, Christy Dr. Mario, Dan, etc.) I really hate it when developers do that. Give these NEW characters a whole set of their own moves so they aren't merely clones of exisiting fighters.
Secondly, I think future fighing games should take a page from VF4: Evo and let us scrap with top arcade players. (One reason why quest mode for me is super addicting.) Come on, I mean if versus mode has become a fighing game standard, why can't fighting human AI?

a couple things i want to see in future fighting games.
they touched on this in bushido blade....but i want to see even more in depth fighting arenas....I am tired of the flat ground and ring environment. I want more natural settings....a bar...with bottles and barstools that you can bust over peoples heads.... I want a rocky cliffside...with waterfalls and stuff.....un-even ground.....allowing a player to gain the advantage of the high ground. They had this in virtua fighter three...why did they get rid of it? I also want, like you said...more original character design. New fighting styles. I'd like to see someone who fights like a monkey....it is a martial art style.....and it RAWKS. I'd like to see an Aikido master...no punches no kicks...ALL DEFENSIVE THROWS AND SUBMISSIONS. more to come as i think of them.

slow mo ability online play including league tables- ur chracter plays in a tournement depending on how far he gets he wins points |

one of the reasons i liked DOA2 so much was the fact that you could kick your opponent through windows or do like a piledriver move off a 200ft cliff!
i like the sound of like a bar brawl that would be very cool! you could have drinkers watching the fight and if you got too close they could smash you across the head with a bottle or chuck you through a table! hehe |

I second that, dillion. I'd like to see a fighting game that uses 100% real matrial art sytles.
I also one to see modes that focus on solo play sucha s VF4: Evo's Quest mode. I know I'll be playing for months thanks to the addictive nature of that mode. I also love how you can customize the crap out of your figthers with over 1500 items. I also want to see better practice modes in fighing games, especially when the fighing gets as deep as VF4: Evo and SCII. Why do developers insist on dropping players in a fighing game with a practice mode that's basically says "OK, here you go. Look at the move lists to practice"? I love how VF4: Evo takes you through so many of the moves and techniques in the game.

a couple of games have gotten close to actual styles of martial arts.
Hwoarang in Tekken was very realistic. So realistic in fact that his name is his style...Hwoarang-Do...which is a style that originated from Tae-Kwon-Do...even down to his triple kick in the air.... I've seen guys who can jump off the ground and spin 1080 degrees while doing FIVE kicks before they land...so it is possible. and Eddy Gordo was AMAZINGLY realistic..not only that, but he is and always will be the ass-kicker of the century. NOBODY can beat me when i am him. But i would like to see a fighting game similar to a Kumite....all different styles against each-other...and I want their styles to be EXACT. it could become the greatest fighting game ever....as long as the fighting is done outdoors...indoors...rooftops...there could even be a level...and i've been thinking about how this would work, it could. They could make a level that takes place inside a helicopter while it's flying over a city. Close quarters combat, and if you get knocked out of the helicopter, it's a ring out and you fall a long way down....but there would have to be a technique to keep yourself from falling out...that had to be executed at a certain time. i think it would be cool anyways.

What would I like to see?
I'd like to see Itakagi get his head out of his ass, lose the superiority complex and make a REAL fighting game, you know, one that focuses more on fighting than virtual tits and ass. I'd like to see another franchise besides Soul Calibur that is done right. I'd like to see Tekken Force gameplay done right. Enough with the Double Dragon, 2D side scrolling, eat a whole turkey to regain health, and then knock the same guy down three times, with the same ****ing kick kind of lame ass gameplay. Give me a true 3D action mode with a story that lets me take advantage of Kilik's insane speed and reach. Basically, I would like to see some innovation from the most played out genre outside of survival horror. |
