Alright i dont know if this is the right place but I'll post it here anyways. I know that at least some of the members of this forum work in the gaming industry so I figured you would be the best people to ask.
I am a high school senior this year and I am trying to think about college next year. I don't know wut I want to do for a living but I'm thinking that working in the gaming industry would be pretty super cool. My question is this: How do you go about getting into the industry? I mean wut should I major in in college and that kind of stuff. Any help I can get would be very much appreciated. |

Welll, that doesn't narrow it down too much... I mean here is a small list of things you can do.....
Journalist Public Relations Programmer 3D Animator Concept Artist Project Leader Music I am really tired, so thats all i got off the top of my head. But I am in the same boat as you bro. High school senior and the all that BS. But I am trying to start my own site up. I still program and wanted to do that, but you get no freedom in programming.

Well the gaming industry is a big place and it really depends what you want to do.
There are many people in the gaming industry, for example Arnold (EIC of PSXExtreme.com), writes about games such as reviews, previews and so on. But then if you would like to work directly in the gaming industry like for the developing companies such as Capcom, Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix, etc... it would depend on the position you want to take. Graphical Designing is a major that might help getting into the Gaming Industry but it can also help you to get in the Movie Industry. That's all the help i can give, hope that helps!

Thanx for the help.
I think I would look more towards programming or writing since I'm not incredibly creative when it comes to graphics and such. |

EA' s opening shop in montreal soon. I'll definitely send them a resume, especially since I have QA experience, and by then I'll have my Computer Engineering degree.
