In your opinion has the PS2 surpassed the PSone In Terms Of Games?

I think it has surpassed it, i'm loving the PS2's lineup right now and the current libary is awesome.

no, personally i dont think it has surpassed the psone YET. i deffinitly think it will before its end. at this point, the games ive really loved that i'll go back to time and time again are mostly on the original playstation. FFVII, silent hill, Lunar, xenogears, metal gear solid.

as far as my personnal library of games, yes it has surpassed the ps1. as for availability of games, noway.

Presently, I own 41 PSOne games, and there is only like 2 or 3 games I still want for it. For my PS2, I own 40 games for it, and there are still PLENTY of games I would love to buy for it that are already out. For me, the PS2 library has surpassed the PSOne's library of games when the PSOne was at the PS2's present lifetime.

I've equally enjoyed both systems myself..There has always been at least one title out for me to go out and get to enjoy until the next title.

Obviously, the PSOne has, at this time, a much wider game selection, but I think that the quality of the PS2's top games easily bests its predecessor.

Games like GTA3, Devil May Cry, Mark of Kri, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven, Final Fantasy X, Drakan, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, Onimusha, et al just blow away the best of PSOne.

Basically, the power the PS2 enjoys over its older brother allows for potentially better games, and so far, the various developers who have made games for the system have made the most of that potential.

The PS2 has many great titles and the graphics/gameplay has improved since launch but is you look at the same period of time after the PS was launched, things were looking even better.
