I am a FPS master, I have played and beaten almost every single one to come out since wolfenstein 3d.

Control of the character is something that can make or break a game. The control of metroid prime was like walking through a world of jello.

Aiming and firing on enemies was too hard to be fun.

I read the previews, and if nintendo intended to make a FPS that was sloppy and boring from the start, they succeeded.

Believe me, i am not the only person that has these "little nit picks" as you call them. Which in all reality are MAJOR parts in a video game.

To me, graphics come second, which metroid prime had some great graphics. But control is really all that matters in games, and if it's a task to move around and shoot at the same time, you have failed in making a great FPS.

What does your experience with FPS have to do with Prime? Prime is not FPS, as the resemblence to the genre stops with the first person view. Prime was an adventure game that featured FPS elements; that's about it.

In Sons of Liberty, most combat takes place in the first person, but that does not mean that Sons of Liberty is a first person shooter, does it?

Prime is also one of the most critically acclaimed games of this generation, and for very good reason.

And? What's your point? Konami's DDR is a music game that uses a dance pad so that you move to the beat of the song, keeping up with arrows, just so you can accumulate points to "prove" you can dance. Beatmania, a music DJ game (before DDR) started Konami's music game success, and then DDR and Drum Mania popped up. The Bemani series is very successful. Konami went as far as originality goes when they created the Bemani series, but now that Nintendo's trying to jump the bandwagon, they get funny looks and people scoffing at their efforts to do something they've probably never done before.

A lot of pals I know complain about Ninty not being original enough. When original games do pop up, people complain about their favorite series not being the same anymore. Make up your minds, folks. Even if the new DK game isn't interesting enough for me, I'll still stick by Nintendo; just call it the nostalgia in me, growing up with Ninty and all. I give props to Nintendo because they're still successful, whether people see it or not. GC is not their only system that makes money.

Youre not getting the point, instead of trying to be original, nintendo is throwing there top characters into games to increase sales. They are basically killing themselves. I admit the idea of the game sounds fun, but don't make the cast of donkey kong the lead characters. They made Animal Crossing and Pikmin, both are pretty good. So we know they have some ideas left, but this is just ridiculous. Isn't it funny how nintendo used to be the king of platformers and now there lucky if they can even make a decent one. That could be the reason there sales are so bad. My god sony has easily surpassed them this generation in first party games, and thats supposed to be the reason for buying a gamecube.

Hmm. This sounds interesting to me. I think this could be a good music game. I'm not big into the music game genre, but I still own a few music titles (Space Channel 5 and Um Jammer Lammy). For Nintendo, this is something different and I applaud them for that. Like some of you have already said, I'm still gonna stay by Nintnedo. I own 25 GC titles so there's no way I'm selling my 'Cube.
