I loved metroid prime, and I knew that it was going to be the way it was. Nintendo only stated it a million and one times that it would be a third person title in a FPS perspective. Anyone who didn't expect that, just didn't read.

Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games ever. Defenitly NGC's best game by far.
I thought the way the game played was nice and it was slightly different from other FPS games i guess i would have to agree with the Ryan that maybe it could be considered something other then an FPS game.

I agree fully. It plays nothing like any other FPS, has only a few FPS traits, so I don't think it would be fair to label it as one. Still one of the best games in years IMO.

Yeah, Prime does rock, and I don't think Arnold was disparaging the title in any way, simply disagreeing with my technical assessment of Metroid. Arnold, from what I recall, loves Prime, and in fact we named it the "non PS2 game of the year" for 2002.

I think that, whether you think Prime is a FPA or a FPS, that everyone can agree that it owns your mother's pantyhose.

I do like the game quite a bit. I'm just hesitant to call it anything else but a glorified FPS game. I think Nintendo took a piss on some of your eyes and got you believin' things. :P

I wanted to throw it out of the window :STFU:

I put cat food all over it, but that cat started to choke and I had to remove the disk from its mouth.

I hated it because it looked so gorgeous, and sounded amazing...
and then I played it... if they put in configurable controls next time, ill buy the sequel for sure.

Instant death games, I hate it when you do something wrong e.g. going through a wring door, and you've got to start off were you last had a checkpoint

I only played Metroid Prime a few times at a friends house, since I don't own a GC, and I couldn't stand it. Maybe if I owned it and got more time to play my opinion would be different but from the few times I got to play it I didn't see what the big deal was.

I hate games that are slow and boring (MMORPG's). Recently I just wanna get into the action and blow shit up. I don't want al these lame storylines and stupid music trying to be all cinematic and make you feel for the characters. I just want to blast some loud music and blow shit up old school style. Exceptions to this are games with good stories and characters like MGS, Final Fantasy, etc. I probably didn't explain myself too well, but who cares anyways.
