The PS2 version of Soul Calibur 2 does NOT, repeat does NOT have slow down. I based out on that particular version, played every character in every costume, and never once detected the slightest bit of slow down. The game plays as smooth if not smoother than the original for Dreamcast.

I haven't heard anything about slowdown, i think the game runs perfectly fine on ps2 the only thing i heard is that the loading time of the ps2 compared to the gamecube and xbox is slower.

I thought that the Xbox version of SCII loaded a lot slower than the GC version IMO.

I played the Xbox version even more and I definitely know that I won't get it. I personally felt the GC version controlled much better. I'm getting the GC version, as of right now since my PS2 collection is crowded.

Just wait until you have actually played the game. The GC controller is absolute crap for this game. There are some games that the GC controller works perfectly for, such as Prime- Soul Calibur II...... Soul Calibur II is not one of these games.

Of course, if you manage never to play the Xbox or PS2 version, you'll never know what you're missing. Ignorance may be bliss, after all.

Are they really that bad? I mean, I've been able to adapt to pretty much all game controls in any game, on any system. Are they that awful that it wouldn't be worth playing?

the GC controls are like the Xbox's... from what I gather, they aren't bad.. like god awful, but they feel disconnected.

the PS2 pad fits in to your hand like a glove anyway, so the fact that every button can be used to full effect just makes you wanna pick up the pad an play.

The GC, Xbox controller is like when your trying to hear your neighbours argue... but you cant quite hear... so you move closer to the wall until you can hear what they are saying.

The PS2 pad is like you have just banged on their front door and just come out and asked them what the fuk they were shouting about in the first place, and can you make yourself a cup of tea while you watch them carry on.



ahhh... what a game.


so anyway, I havent heard anyone here say that their getting the Xbox version... everyone is just talking about the GC and PS2.... and Xbox-ers out there getting Spwan?

if I were you G, I would buy a PS2 pad link to your Xbox... and use a PS2 controller with your SC2...
