OK, now i'm not going to lie to you. I really don't like online gaming. Except for a few games. I own an Xbox and I hate Xbox live with a passion. The only games that I have played online that I enjoyed were SOCOM and Phantasy Star Online. But the PS2's future may change this for me. I'm really anticipating titles like RE Online, Gran Turismo Online, Final Fantasy Online, and Breaker.
I'm just wandering if you think the PS2's has a decent lineup for online or if you think it's only mediocre. IMO, I think it is the best. Maybe not in terms of lay out. But for games that I actually want to play, I feel it is the best. And now that sony is rumored to be creating a new socom game I am even more excited.

Here is some Info on some games you may or may not know about.
Game #1: Breaker Developer: Tecmo INFO Courtesy Of IGN!!! Tecmo describes its new PS2 title Breaker as a Network Action Game, and it looks like that's about all we're going to get for a while. The first trailer movie debuted at the company's Tokyo Game Show booth today, but while the footage shown looked like the product of the in-game engine, it was all cinematics, introducing characters and setting elements but answering few questions regarding how the game will play So far, it looks like a team-based shooter, with four soldiers in snappy blue uniforms confronting alien bad guys with a variety of weapons. The different team members in the trailer used assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, flamethrowers, and a nifty man-portable mini-gun in the best Predator tradition. The enemies also offered another Predator echo, with faceless opponents in armor and stylized dreadlocks confronting our heroes with energy rifles. The settings is definitely some kind of science-fiction world, albeit a somewhat sparsely-furnished one as yet. Most of the battles in the trailer took place in simple indoor environments, although there are a few sequences showing gaping-mawed alien beasts rampaging in hordes across a barren surface. Rumors regarding this game from some time back indicated that it was supposed to take place on Mars -- that would jive with the character of the environments shown. Some terraforming would have to have taken place, though, since the protagonists seem to have no trouble breathing Breaker's graphics, if this is footage was indeed produced by the in-game engine, could use some polishing at this point. The lighting isn't quite detailed enough to make up for relatively simple textures and modeling, giving the characters a rather flat look -- check the media section for the one available screenshot, which is roughly equivalent to the visuals shown in the trailer. The weapons produce some more impressive effects, though, especially the flamethrower. There's just something about a flamethrower, you know? Graphical quibbling aside, cooperative multiplayer games are always a good thing, especially now that the PS2 is ready to go online. We'll look forward to more of the veil dropping away from Breaker in the coming months, now that Tecmo has officially revealed the game. The Breaker Trailer Photos: ![]()

thats weak.
![]() i downloaded the trailer and it looks ok. not quite sure if i would want to play it though. the whole point of playing online, imo, is to play against real people, to challenge another human.

I don't like many online games, and I gather that I won't play them for a while either... Unless Halo2 lets you play 4 player coop or something. That would make me get Xbox live anytime.
