With so much variety, the game has more than enough absurdly addictive elements to keep you busy for untold hours. It's got almost everyything you'd want from a role-playing game--but it's also got something most RPGs lack.

Presentation
The superb opening credits and cinemas found early in the game make this game feel like a million bucks. Plus, there are a ton of options placed in some incredibly slick menus. 9.0
Graphics
Quite possibly one of the best looking games out on any system. What's not to like? 9.5
Sound
Great music and good voices litter the game at all times. It just could have used a little more oomph... 8.5
Gameplay
A great mix of several somewhat related genres, along with some new ideas thrown in for good measure. The best part is, it all works beautifully together. 9.0
Lasting Appeal
A lengthy quest, customizable weapons and vehicles, good mini-games, and goals for every dungeon that yield special medals when met make this game worth playing for hours on end. 9.0

I just picked it up today, my cousin sold my copy to me a day early, he said the truck arrived yesterday. Which is cool. So i picked up DC2 and The Shield Season One this afternoon.

i just saw a commercial for this game. looks interesting but i was never a Zelda fan.

Hey arnold, you know what i thought was weird. You read the IGN review, and the whole time your thinking a possible 9.7 or higher, but only a 9.0. They had no complaints. Now if it were on the Xbox, they would have given it a 9.6 or higher.

Haha, yeah. If some Xbox IGN critic would've reviewed the game, and DC2 was an Xbox title, it would've surely got a 9.5+. PS2 IGN has YET to give ANY game a perfect score.

I think the reason that they don't give a perfect score is because it's hard to review games after that. There is always that standard that they may never be able to meet again.

I heard people talkiong about Dark Cloud 1 being a Zelda killer and it defenitly wasn't. I would have to play this game but i doubt it'll be a zelda killer.

BTW we'll see what Wind Waker gets. And don't forget the Ocarina of Time got perfect 10's.

Game Fan: It was 9.0, 8.5, 9.5 from EGM. And EGM's credibility is far higher on my list than IGN, that's for sure.

Lazer: Nobody said anything about DC being a Zelda killer, so there's no point in bringing that up in this forum. That said, DC2 plays much different than the first. This game is frigin sick.
