I'm with sunburn. It was a great game but no where near a zelda-killer.

I didn't like Zelda: Wind Waker too much but i felt it had qualities in it making it better then DC2.

DC2 came came out at the same time as WW.. so its a good game to compare with in the sense that it was fairly free roaming, it was an action RPG and that it was very beautiful to look at.

but does it compare to old zelda? what Zelda are you talking about Majora's mask.. Ocarina of time? or the older ones?

well it doesn't compare, because Zelda is deeply rooted in the adventure genre, while DC2 was more of a traditional dungeon crawler....

they're not even the same kind of game, which is why i think the comparison was silly in the first place. You don't see people claiming that GTA3 was going to be a Gran Turismo killer because both involved driving. :P

Sunny is right. But if i would compare it to any Zelda game, DC2 just doesn't compare. That is comparing it to the N64 Zelda games and beyond.

lol.. i guess i dont get it because im no Zelda player. the only Zelda game ive played and completed was WW. i have the gold edition with the other N64 Zelda games on it, and have messed around on them.. but havent played them for serious.

ok, i'll just take it that its not like Zelda then and will be damn happy and not ask again

Zelda Ocarina of Time is by far one of the greatest games I've ever played. It's actually on my list of Top 5 greatest games ever. DC2 i probably wouldn't even place in my top 50 maybe not even Top 100 list if i had one. And my #1 game on the list is Zelda: A Link to the Past (Zelda 3) which i feel is a game that had everything that a game should have.

Wind Waker was a good game but it disappointed me, it just wasn't as great of a Zelda as i would have hoped. It was definitely an excellent game but not the greatest. But the new Revolution Zelda (Twilight Princess) is actually pretty damn good. I'm really liking it.
