Exclamation Help With Network Adaptor (Can I Use Two Cable Modems?)

I currently have Roadrunner as my ISP and I was wondering if I could keep my cable modem connected to my computer, buy a new cable modem, and connect the new cable modem to my network adaptor. This way would save me a lot of money (Won't have to buy wireless networking equipment). Also, if I could do this, do I have to pay extra money a month to Roadrunner? Thanks for your help.

Whoah, whoah. Slow down, skip. You don't need to buy another cable modem. All you need to buy is a router and another CAT5 cable. That way, you split your cable connection.

Yes you would need to pay $5 extra per month for RoadRunner to provide you with another IP.

I beleive this is a wasteful idea. By either a wireless or non-wireless router for about $100 or less. Get yourself either a Cat5 or higher ethernet wire and just router your PC and your PS2 to the same cable modem. And no extra fees by RoadRunner.

EDIT: The one Arnold showed you works like a charm for both me and Arnold!

I got 2 PCs and 2 PS2s hooked up to my internet thru a 4 port router and it works great. For one of the PS2s I have a 100 foot cable going under the house to the room where the PS2 is. I havent been charged an extra set. Getting the router is also better bcuz you can play online while being able to access AIM and MSN messenger, so you can try and round up people to play at the same time. Just dont download music cuz it will eat your connection and make you lag...
