I'd have to say the game is pretty good but I really wish they wouldn't have messed with how the game flowed. The new added features are nice but taking away more than what was added is a big don't in my book. I've played ninja gaiden and ninja gaiden black on the xbox and played sigma and sigma 2 and enjoyed them all equally but with this new installment it really lowered that sense of fun and adventure. The story is good in my opinion and the combat is ok i guess but not as fluid as it has been in the others. It just seems forced and without there being a move list that makes it seem like they just want you to button mash and that's it. I mean they still do have the guillotine throw and the izuna drop (which is a freakin trophy wth...) but who would know how to do it if they didn't play the other games? I know i probably wouldnt be able to button mash and be able to perform it.

Anyway what are your guys opinions and what do you think of my collectors edition

The reviews I've read make this game sound absolutely atrocious, everything I don't want in Ninja Gaiden. Overly simplistic and easy, repetitive combat is not what I want in a Ninja Gaiden game, and every review I've read so far seems to be in agreement on that being the case.

I figured after Itagaki left this series would take a nosedive in quality, so I'm not surprised that it's tanking with critics.

i don't think it really deserved a 3.0 from IGN but my opinion it's at least a 7 or 7.5

I got my collectors edition as you can see but when i opened up my sealed NG3 game it didnt come with an online code :/

You dont happen to think that it's combined with the DoA5 premium code do you?

If it doesnt work that way should i just spend the $10 and get it that way or should i email tecmo? If i do have to email tecmo how do i get into contact with them.

If the game really only has one weapon as reviews state, as opposed to the 10 different weapons in previous games, that's a huge, and pretty awful, drop in both variety and gameplay, since each weapon in previous games created an entirely new, complex style to master, several of which were more suitable to different situations. Removing all weapons but the Dragon Sword necessarily means streamlining the gameplay in ways you don't have to if you can equip the Lunar or Flail or Claws.

That alone is enough of a turn off for me.

Well if it makes a difference they're doing dlc for new weapons and the first 4 will be free i think and therr is a bow also but i know you dont use a bow for mainly attacking

No, it really doesn't make a difference, because weapons as DLC means they, and the different playstyles they create, which were integral to previous Ninja Gaiden games, are nothing more than an afterthought here.

The point is that the previous Ninja Gaiden games created additional depth and variety with the various weapons, and the various enemies you faced required you to learn and become proficient with at least a few of them.

If you can beat Ninja Gaiden 3 with just the Dragon Sword, which obviously you can, that's no longer the case, and it means the gameplay suffers greatly.

I always assumed that with Itagaki's departure the first casualty of Ninja Gaiden would be the complexity and difficulty of the combat, and without that it's not really Ninja Gaiden, it's just another hack and slash. Ninja Gaiden isn't ever a series you played for the story, or the presentation. What set it apart from other games was the combat.

Everything I've read about this game, in addition to the obvious lack of depth and complexity, leads me to believe the combat is atrocious, repetitive and easy, which is a deadly combination for any flop in the making.
