Question: Why are there piles of AA batteries on subway tracks?
If anyone is from New York, or has an answer to this question, I would appreciate it. I googled it for about 20 minutes, but couldn't find an answer. The New York times apparently had a column answering the question, but you have to pay to see it. The only thing I can think of is that people who use batteries to listen to music throw them out on the tracks. The same theory applies for used batteries from cameras.
Does anyone know the exact answer?
