ArsTechnica said if you're going to invest in Blu Ray now, PS3 is the way to go, as it's actually a quality player. Additionally, in point of fact, at the time of the PS2's release, its DVD playback was at least midrange.
Speaking of which, I am currently watching Firefly on my PS2. Multi-purpose consoles FTW!
