You are using normal people logic, and not movie logic.
See below for an example:
"You're in a house and are being chased by a psycho killer. What do you do?"
Human logic. Get out of the house and run as fast as your legs will carry you.
Movie logic. Run up to the attic where you can easily be cornered and hacked into little pieces.
