I thought that this game deserved it's very own thread.
First if you go to the
PlayStation blog you will find a big update on WKC. You should probably read up on there so we know what you think.
I just read the story posted and I am very much pleased with what I got out of it. I will highlight some of the things that made most impressions on me.
Motomura-san = Kentaro Motomura, Producer of White Knight Chronicles
Motomura-san now describes the concept of the world – an authentic fantasy world created on an enormous scale. One of the characteristics is that there are lot of enormous creatures in the game, such as a monster so large, it has a town on its back.
That seems like something you wouldn't want to run in to so much. I mean if a monster can have a town on it's back how big is the town etc. Can we travel to this town, is this creature friendly or evi?
OK, now what you were really pining for: the Battle System. Players can freely register commands into the “function palettes”. You can create and name your own combos to be used in an active-time battle using simple controls. Many, many combination's are possible.
Well it seems like we got some genius at work here we fresh ideas. Love the idea of "freely register commands into the "function palettes" part. Plus name your own combos seems like nice idea.
Motomura-san talks more about the Knights for which the game is named. Sometimes you (and your friends) are going to come face-to-face with incredibly large enemies, impervious to most of your attacks. But you’ll likely want to transform into one of the huge Knight characters. But it’s possible to fight successfully with a mix of small and transformed warriors.
So it seems there are a lot of BIG monster battles in the game, which balance the use of the powerful White Knight. The new screen shots they up at the blog look very good, and very much how an fantasy JRPG should look like.
All that is left is for them to release an North American and European release date.
