Got my ears back up to 11mm again after a swim, and so far aside from the normal initial sting, it's been feeling fine. Might have helped that for a few days I've been wearing the X and O buttons from a broken Dual Shock 2 which just so happened to be about a millimeter larger than the main portion of the green doubles..
