Well there ended up to be 5 kittens, all seem to be perfectly healthy so far and I hope all continue to be the same. Mama's been very protective and proud of her batch, the supposed father (my roommates indoor/outdoor cat which I hate) keeps trying to get at them, so she packed them up and moved to another room til I secured my own where her nest was, and shes been happily nursing them since.
Shirt, I think she's about 4 years old, my guess. She was the roommates cat, but (long story short) when she left we took care of her, and when she came back she decided she was ours.. I think she's had her for a while, but we've taken so much better care of her than she ever did or will, so I'm ok with keeping her. She's a wonderful cat and I want to take the best care of her.
Zapix, I agree though, the father is kind of a deadbeat. Personalitywise that is. He seems more like an alleycat that just happens to get let inside so he can pee on things.
My kitten on the other hand (also birthed by this same mamacat a year ago) is kind of jealous of the attention she's getting, very obviously so.. But I think shes coming to terms with it and seems to be a little less upset with me than she was when I had to shoo her away from the room while she was in labor.
I was hoping I could take more pictures but the lighting isn't terrific and I didn't want to hurt the kittens under developed eyes with the flash, so maybe later on I can manage to get some more cute ones of them.
::edit:: just realized though that my D200 was on 200ISO and I keep forgetting that so I never upped it to a higher one.. maybe I can manage something now that I did it.
