Yea, onion knight is power full, by every 2nd job you master, the Onion Knight will gain 1 job level. (excluding Squire, Chemist, Mime, and Dark Knight)

Onion Knights cannot equip their unique equipment before Job Level 8, and cannot equip any secondary abilities.

Right now I am going to max out at least 5-6 of my party, and go down deep dungeon to fetch some of the best swords you can get without multiplaying.
