so it really is the fact that they are 'too important' to relearn how to use something? man, that sucks.
its like saying no to SKATE in favour of THPS, because you refuse to learn another way to play the same sort of game.
its people like Gabe who made the genre as amazing as it is. I still consider Half Life and Counter Strike as two of the greatest games ive played, and personally i have lost many many hours playing them.
but you would of thought that an intelligent man such as he obviously is, can understand that it cant always be an easy ride when it comes to what he does best, and that if he just spent the time leaning a new way, he might be able to create something truly amazing and unique?
its a sad sad day when someone like this decides that easy is best, i dont think anyone or anything has ever benifited from that sort of outlook ever.
i understand the concept of keeping it simple etc etc.. but this is his line of work, technology moves on, you must learn new things or get stuck in that mud and get stale.
if its just the fact that he doesnt want to work on the PS3, cool.. i know i wont miss those games that he makes.. but why bitch about it and make out like youre some sort of Guru who people have to listen to.
The Edge Magazine is possibly the last place i want to hear this ego crap from, because its right up their street.. i would love it if someone from the UK who reads The Edge can say what they said about Gabes outburst.
i would be very surprised if The Edge defended the PS3 but you never know!
