Dillon, your friend is psycho! The triathlon I did is called a "sprint" by people in the tri circle. Sounds like your buddy did the Olympic-length tris. Even more nuts than that are the "Ironman" tris. Those guys swim about 2.5 miles, bike about 100 miles, then run the marathon (26.2 miles). They have 17 hours to complete it, I understand 0_o

My friend who got me into the baby tri thing met a 65-year-old man who had just completed an Ironman. Insane!

Truthfully, one of the main reasons I decided to start running this year was to get in shape to play some city-league basketball this fall. I haven't played competitively in over 13 years. I'm really looking forward to re-learning how to dribble

One of my biggest concerns going into the tri-training was that I would burn myself out. Now that it's all done, I'm starting to think that's exactly what's happened. Since the event, I've been pretty hard pressed to get out and exercise twice per week. I haven't totally slipped, but I'm nowhere near as fit as I was even two weeks ago. Amazing how quickly you can lose what takes so long to get
