This dvd player plays regular dvd's at 720p and 1080i

That being posted,even if you get hd tv you the human eye cannot see the difference at normal viewing distences.
People who say they can see a difference are only seeing what that big price tag is telling them to see.

Its proven by science that you cannot tell the difference.
