Using Wii-Motes on your laptop
So my roommate is a programmer and the other night he brewed up an interesting little way of using Wii-Motes to play on his Macbook, which he then hooked up to the TV. We ended up playing Turtles in Time the arcade game, pretty sweet.
The point for him was just to see if he could actually program a Wii-mote like that since they're Bluetooth devices, and specifically (later on) he plans on trying to see if he can get the Wii-mote to work like a light gun on PC; right now it's 'Wii-mote in classic controller' mode only, or at least that was all he could figure out.
Given the bluetooth nature of the sensing devices, my roomie expects to see a ton of homebrewing going on, and I can definitely see that. Has anyone else done anything interesting with their Wiis yet? Obviously no talk of piracy is allowed, but finding new and interesting ways to play with your Wii is both fun and a really bad pun.
