He's running a 22mbps Fiber Optics network. I'm running on a 12mbps Cable line.
T1 is outdated a slow, your basic DSL connection speed is the same as T1 speeds. Your basic cable connection speed is T2 speed. T3 however is far greater, ranging around 40-45mbps. Val's fiber optic speeds are about half the speed of full speed T3.
Full Capacity Speeds
T1: 1544 kbps
T1c: 3152 kbps
T2: 6312 kbps
T3: 44736 kbps
T4: 274760 kbps
EDIT:
The Fiber Optic speeds that are used are called OC (Optical Carrier)
OC-1 = 51.85 Mbps
OC-3 = 155.52 Mbps
OC-12 = 622.08 Mbps
OC-24 = 1.244 Gbps
OC-48 = 2.488 Gbps
OC-192 = 9.952 Gbps
OC-256 = 13.21 Gbps
