Not sure why people didn't expect this... Perhaps they didn't notice, but Capcom has already made two of the most successful exclusive 360 titles in Dead Rising and Lost Planet. They're clearly not adverse to working on the platform, and by releasing a game on other platforms, it ensures more sales. It's really not surprising.
I'm pretty sure that by the end of this generation, the third-party exclusive will be a thing of the past. Only first and second-party games and series can remain exclusive at this point; third-parties are perfectly willing to make their games multiplatform now. So there are two keys: 1. which console will have the best versions of multiplat titles? I had the Xbox primarily because it almost always had the best versions of multiplat games, for example. 2. which console will have the best first/second-party exclusives? Nintendo has the big three in Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, Microsoft has Halo, PGR, and probably Mass Effect (it's supposed to be a trilogy), and Sony has Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy (the TRUE installments, like FF XIII are exclusive to the PS3), Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Resistance, etc.
