So.. im just thinking about the Wii and PS3, and the joy pads… I mean, how far are we going with this?

We started off with sticks, then stick with a button, then a couple of buttons. For me the greatest leap in Joy pad technology was the NegCon, because for me it was so unique. For those who have never seen one.. it was basically a pad in a familiar design, but it twisted in the centre. Great for games like Wipeout.. Just fantastic, but useless for anything else you wanted to play. This is why I think the Sixaxis will work amazingly well with the new Wipeout, being able to turn or at least put more ‘feeling’ in to play.
The WiiMote does this very very well too… of course its horses for courses with the nunchucks imo, but amazing technology that I can see just going further and further.

But in 20 years time what will we be using? Our minds? Lol…. We joked in the other forum (off topic) about a Wii-glove, for holding the Wiimote so you didn’t lose it, and then it went on to a Wii-glove that was part of the Wiimote itself. Of course we have had virtual gloves in the past, but with this technology that the Wii and even the Sixaxis use, the probability of a ‘GOOD’ virtual glove is I think a distinct possibility.

Imagine virtual Pants, T-shirt and trainers? ..Imagine playing Tekken fully clothed? The Eye–toy is incredible, there is no doubt, but you could use this with Bluetooth and design a fighting game with pin point accuracy and collision detection.

I don’t know what you guys think, but with these next Gen machines I think the future in gaming starts here.. no longer do we have to say “imagine what the graphics will be like on the new Tekken or GT” now we can think about the other dimension in gaming… the ‘feel’ factor.

What other type of control could we use in the future? Nothing is a stupid idea.. That’s the greatest thing about this, what was once thought as stupid is now a huge possibility.
